Hayden Falls, Maybe Not.
This morning my wife and I headed to Hayden Falls. We planned to arrive during the Golden Hour and we did, but, Hayden Run was dry.

Hayden Falls, Maybe NOT it would seem. Alas, we could not get the waterfall shots we wanted, but, we did manage to get some nice shots of the canyon, the plank walk, and stairs heading to the canyon floor.
I have been to Hayden Falls many times in the past. I’ve never seen the place without some water-flow. Was I disappointed, yes, but, one thing any photographer must never forget is to make the most of any situation. You just might come away with some really nice images.
The great thing about Hayden Run is that the stream drains into the Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio. The downside of that is the place has little parking space and it is popular. Midday, the place is always crowded.
We did find a lot of beverage cans in the foliage around the plank walk and people have carved their names on the hand-rails. Someone even spray painted a heart and their initials on the observation deck. I find it annoying that some people will go to see a place like this and never seem to appreciate the beauty of nature enough to leave it just the way they found it.
Here is the waterfall sans water.
