Another Great Day
My wife and I had another great day at Prairie Oaks Metro Park. Well, it was really just about an hour and a half.
We headed to the park around 8:00 AM because we had low-altitude cloud cover and lighting was diffused. I knew that rain would be here later in the day; however, we had plenty of time to get some excellent pictures and head back home for a late morning breakfast.
My wife was reading in the car while I went down to the water one last time before we headed for home. About two minutes later a big egret landed across from me on the opposite shore. Lucky me!
I had a Nikon D5600 and the Sigma 150-600mm “Contemporary” lens in my hand. I was also carrying my Manfrotto tripod.
I started shooting…

This park is host to a multitude of birds. Today, they were all feeding actively. The only residents I did not see were the cormorants. Well, maybe next time.
