Return to Prairie Oaks
This morning I returned to Prairie Oaks to search for Great Blue Heron and Cormorant. I found the former, but not the latter.
There were lots of insects in the air this morning and just about every songbird I saw had a bug in its beak. I took a few shots. My quarry, however, was really aquatic fowl.
While I did not see any cormorant this morning I did find great blue heron. I took several shots with the Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.3 DG lens for Nikon F-mount. The lens will work for both full-frame and crop sensor (APS-C) cameras. There are also versions for Canon and Sony.
Here are some images…

I arrived at the Golden Hour and left before the crowds came. It was a peaceful morning and I enjoyed the sights and sounds of birds and other wildlife. I did see a mink or marten swimming in one of the lakes, but, I could not get a shot or it. Maybe next time.
